“Building a trellis for our growing garden”
Parents, please watch the November Intro Video. This month, ask your children to help you evaluate your family’s habits. Questions like these may help start the conversation: “When do we find time in our schedule to pursue love for God, his creation, ourselves, and others? Can you think of examples in each of these four areas?” For families with younger children, try this question: “What ways do we show God we love him?” You may want to write the answers down in your Growing Families journal to remember their responses.
This month, each family member will examine the ways they show their love for God. Display the results so the whole family can see them. Your family will also create a Rule of Life. Choose some family habits that help you live out your faith. Start with only a few and discuss how well you are doing. Be practical as you choose and gentle with your expectations. Some habits are daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly. Take this time to enjoy and get to know each other better. Remember, connection over perfection!
