This month, Growing Families will practice Spiritual Conversations. We found great content on how to lead your children in deep conversations. If you haven’t read The Spiritually Vibrant Home, read Chapter 5, Loud Tables: helping our households have Spiritual Conversations. Another great resource is Axis, a Christian media group that equips parents of teens in the art of conversation. Axis shared a video with us. You can use the QR code on page 6. If you are looking for a way to discuss US and World news with your family, subscribe to Decaf (The Pour Over for Families), a politically neutral news source with a Christian worldview. The Digging Deeper section on page 6 has a link.
A lifetime of conversations with your children is so important. Your job as parents is to listen with your whole self and allow the Holy Spirit to guide your time together. This is the practice of holy listening. Choose to embody a holy curiosity about your child and listen for what God may be saying through them. Being a listener is sacrificial, yet God meets both you and your children in the middle of the conversation. If you aren’t learning more about the heart of God from your children, you aren’t listening well.

TELLING GOD'S STORY
Watch God’s Story video with your children ( 10 minutes). Interact with the story pieces while watching the video or use them to retell the story later. Pentecost hats are in your resource bag to cut, staple, or tape together if the children want to wear them.
Next, read “The Power of Stories to Change Us”, found in your curriculum, before you interact with the March Family Response to God’s Story.
Finally, read God’s Story Part 2 titled, “Family Response to March”. Then share it with your children. (15-20 minute activity) It has eternal benefits for your family!
